It is a classic combination of a beautiful decorative and historical accurate map of its time. The box features not only the continent but also fanciful drawings of the nationals of Europe and the seven major cities that were an integral part of map making in the 17th century. The box is finished in burgundy linen book cloth. The corners of the top are covered in walnut cave paper. The box dimensions are approximately 13″ long by 9 3/4″ wide by 3 1/2″ deep.
