I love making map boxes and this is a particularly beautiful one. The paper is Italian. I usually make the box to show the map of Italy the way it appears on a regular map. I have also made what I call an “upside down Italy box with Sicily on the top of the box and northern Italy on the bottom at the request of a customer. The interior of the box is finished in black linen book cloth. The lid has a matching black tassel.
Dimensions for these boxes are: 10″ x 7.5″ x 2” deep.
